PRIMERA CLASE - ingles básico - VERB TO BE

 

 VERB TO BE 

Se utiliza tanto como un verbo principal como un verbo auxiliar y es irregular en el presente y el pasado. 

Significa: "ser o estar"

VERB TO BE IN PRESENT 

Tres formas del verbo to be en presente: am, is, are.

SUJETO - VERB TO BE - SIGNIFICADO

I am - yo soy o estoy                               We are - nosotros somos o estamos

You are - tú eres o estás                         You are - ustedes son o están

He is - él es o está                                   They are - ellos son o están 

She is - ella es o está

It is- eso es o está 

TO BE PRESENTE Y PASADO

PRESENTE | PASADO 

Am, is: was  | are: were 

VERB TO BE IN PAST 

Significa: "era o estaba"

Formas del verbo to be en pasado: was, were.

SUJETO - VERB TO BE - SIGNIFICADO 

I was - yo era o estaba                  we were - nosotros éramos o estábamos

you were - tú eras o estabas        you were- ustedes eran o estaban

he was - él era o estaba                they were- ellos eran o estaban

she was - ella era o estaba

it was - eso era o estaba

FORMA NEGATIVA EN PASADO

SUJETO - WAS/WERE - NOT - COMPLEMENTO

was not: wasn't  | were not: weren't 

the cat was not tired = the cat wasn't  tired

Alice was not in bed lastnight = Alice wasn't  in bed lastnight

my mother was not happy yesterday= my mother wasn't  happy yesterday
